SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS: The GED test which is funded and supported by the American Council on Education and the Department of Education in the Commonwealth has accommodations, for which test takers can apply.

The accommodation forms can be accessed by our office and the person requesting the accommodations must fill out the forms and mail them to our office and those forms are mailed to the Education Department in Richmond for yes or no. When a student has an IEP through the school system, it does not necessarily mean that their requests will be accepted as the GED follows ADA guidelines and not IDEA guidelines.

GED candidates can contact the Fairfax County Public School, office of the GED Chief examiner, to request accommodation forms. These forms are specific and must be filled out by a doctor, advocate or school staff member who can provide professional diagnosis.
