Coming in 2010 is a book by Stephanie Cohen, CEO of the the health benefits brokerage firm Golden & Cohen, entitled “You Gotta Laugh: Life inside the Health Insurance Industry.”
Based on decades of experience trying to balance the demands of health insurance providers and the needs of her clients, Cohen has witnessed the good, bad and the ugly when it comes to settling claims and making sure every American she meets has decent health insurance.
“I’d say it has mostly been bad and ugly,” says the 40something mother of two, who is often dismayed at the future of the health insurance industry that she fears she is leaving as legacy for her children. “My goal as the CEO of a health insurance brokerage firm, and a mother, is to ensure that I leave this industry better than I found it.”
Cohen’s book, co-written by journalist and author Hope Katz Gibbs, will showcase the real life dramas of companies and individuals that have battled the health insurance icons — and won. Cohen will also provide important information about what to do to make sure your health insurance coverage is adequate, up-to-date, and meets the needs of your family.
